Urhobo College, Effurun is immensely proud to count among its alumni H.R.M. Orhue I, the paramount traditional ruler of the Okpe Kingdom. His life’s journey from the classrooms of Effurun to the heights of military and traditional leadership serves as a beacon of excellence for all students.
Before ascending the ancient throne of his ancestors in 2006, His Royal Majesty served Nigeria with distinction as a Major General in the Nigerian Army. A man of vast intellect, he is also a trained lawyer, embodying the "discipline and learning" championed by our institution.
As the Orodje of Okpe, he is the traditional custodian of the culture and heritage of the Okpe people, overseeing a kingdom that includes Sapele and its environs. His leadership extends across the state as the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and the head of the Udogun-Okpe (Supreme Council).
H.R.M. Orhue I remains one of our most notable alumni, representing the values of resilience, integrity, and service that define the spirit of Urhobo College Effurun.
